(About)

Korean + Jamaican — MFA ArtCenter / BFA SCAD

I grew up as the one in the room who looked different.

My differences weren’t something to hide. They were the conversation.

I design to preserve culture, start real conversations and make people feel seen.

I grew up as the one in the room who looked different.

I’m Korean and Jamaican, raised around many

cultures at one table, and that taught me to see

the world in layers. Art became my safe space,

from graphite sketches in my algebra notebook

to calligraphy to graphic design.

When an exhibition nearly turned down my

self-portrait Conformity for “idolizing myself,”

I learned my differences weren’t something

to hide. They were the conversation.

Today I’m a visual designer with an MFA in

Graphic Design from ArtCenter College of Design

and a BFA in Graphic Design from the Savannah

College of Art and Design. I work across branding,

typography, print, and hand lettering, and I’m happiest

with ink on my hands. I design to preserve culture,

start real conversations, and make people feel seen.
